This was one of those moments where I looked up and got googly eyed for the sky. After about a minute I ran to get my equipment and with a shitty tripod (which turned out has missing parts when I bought it that makes it next to useless… grrr) and got off a bunch of pics. It skips at one point, thank the tripod for that. I wish the moon were crisper, but there was just no way to get the little wisps of clouds without blowing out the moon. So for a last minute deal it’s ok, I guess. Looks like some strange ultrasound but hey, you’ve gotta start somewhere!
For fellow lightroom users I found the time lapse templates here. It only goes to 30fps but I just sped it up in a different program to the actual speed of the clouds. That page has a youtube tutorial too, you lucky bastids!

I went south to go visit family and take their pictures. I got that accomplished and I had hoped to take in some of the rural locales unique to that area. Between taking the photos of my family and visiting a dear friend I was left with exactly ZIPPO time to get some exploring in. I was unloading my memory card and found some photos of the Philadelphia train station I managed to snap before I hurried onto my train. Good thing I’m going back this summer!

This isn’t just any old keyboard. This is the keyboard of my new laptop that I got specifically for photography (read: no more fighting with hubby over computer time). I even organized my Lightroom presets properly, instead of the clusterf&#k on my desktop.
Tomorrow I get to give this baby a whirl. I’m photographing family so I will be able to view and edit pics right there. (I think a jaunt in Baltimore might be in order, too) I’m pretty nervous about taking portraits; it’s not really my thing – but I would never say no to family. Hence the blitz of practicing and learning my equipment. I’m not into doing something half assed.
Wish me luck!

I found this place on my way to the juvenile detention center. I got some funny looks from the auto shop next door, but it was a neat little shell of a house with a nifty greenhouse in the back.
