Chris is too kind – another feature on Static Instants! And yes, I know exactly what this room was. It was part of the laboratory over at Eastern State Penitentiary. This area of the prison is inaccessible through the regular tours. I was able to photograph it during a special hard hat tour. To see the rest of the images from that set go here.
Be sure to take a gander at Static Instants. He has many talented contributors and he has a Facebook page!
My absolute favorite flower is the peony. Of course it’s only in bloom for a few weeks but while they’re here I got a few photos of them.

Finally a garden bouquet.
I am a busy gal, in the very best way. Unfortunately my poor, lonely camera has seen little action in these past weeks. Perhaps this is why it’s dying on me (PLEASE HOLD ON UNTIL I CAN AFFORD AN UPGRADE!). I pulled some great photos off the memory card with some delightful shots from the zoo. The giraffes stole my heart!
Funny thing about this photo. My sister posted this link on her facebook today, and this giraffe was totally posing just like the photos featured.
My recent jaunt into Eastern State Pen to celebrate Obscura Day was noticed, and featured on the Atlas Obscura blog! As an urban explorer this is one of my favorite blogs. It showcases some of the most interesting places all over the globe.
I’m sitting at my computer with my kitty on my lap, but I am devastated by the loss of his brother. He didn’t come home Saturday night and just as I was printing off some flyers to post around town my neighbor came knocking to tell me she had found him.
Elvis was the sweetest, most affectionate kitty. He was a great companion to my kids and I and we dearly miss him already.
Love you, buddy. We didn’t have nearly enough time with you.
