One thing about me: I’m a noticer. I’m the one that points out all the weird, random things, stuff that doesn’t belong, hilarious ironic things, people doing strange things. I’ve often considered creating a blog of just that kind of absurdity, but I can barely bring myself to maintain this blog.
Among the myriad of signs off Columbus boulevard in Philly, I just happened to look up and notice this. I’m sure there’s some political statement I’m probably missing (I said I was a noticer, not a knower) so maybe one of my readers can fill me in.
I have finally decided to focus my energies into a new project, rather than just taking random photos (although I will still do that, I’m sure).
Before I can get this fully off the ground, I need to practice working with models. This is very new to me! I have a beautiful friend, who, being a model took some pressure off of me for the finer details of getting a good body angle and bonus, she LOVES the camera. And the camera loves her back.
I will happily take any constructive criticism, from portrait photographers most especially!
I am celebrating this momentous occasion by creating a Facebook and twitter account. Thanks to all my readers, this blog exists because of you! See the sidebar on the right to “like” my page.
7 years ago I married my best friend, but it was also the start of a great friendship… with my florist! Unsurprisingly, his garden proved to be as unique and extraordinary as he is. He provided the names of all the flowers as I am horticulturally challenged 🙂
A swamp milkweed. As a friend pointed out, it looks like tiny skulls. I see little storm troopers.
A lovely orchid
Purple persian shield
A former monkey puzzle plant
Not sure what these sweet little flowers are called
Quaking grass and sweet pea flowers
The vine of a 5-leaved akebia
Black eyed susan
Rosemary in the middle of the path
silver dollar plant
and last but not least, wasps who have made their home in this tree for three years. Such a beautiful hive.
